And finally the Cross Genre Contest:
Letters to Santa
I want you to write a letter to Santa Claus. You don't have to believe in Santa Claus, be a Christian, or even celebrate the holidays to know that "Santa" represents something a little different to each of us (and nothing at all to some of us). The letter doesn't have to be "cheesy" or strive for something deep (unless you want it to); it can be silly, tongue-in-cheek, angry, or humorous, a commentary on the state of holidays in general or a statement about religion, faith, commercialism, and/or anything else you feel compelled to talk about this holiday season. The subject matter is entirely up to you.
All it has to be is a letter to Santa.
You can include poetry. You can write it as straight prose. You can make it very formal or you can write in slang or dialect and make it personal in that regard. It can be real; it can be fake. It can include your Christmas List. However, it must be a letter (which includes a salutation and a closing line).
Rules:
1. It must be a letter (including a salutation and closing line);
2. Your letter must be a new deviation or scrap uploaded to your gallery;
3. Prose entries cannot be shorter than 100 words or longer than 3,000 words;
4. Poetry entries must include at least two lines but cannot have more than 40;
5. Visual entries must be clear enough and large enough to be read on full-view;
6. Letters should comply with dA submission policies and standards;
7. Your entry does not have to be written in English.

See, I've started writing for Weird Girls. If you're into nerdly things you should check it out.
At the moment, I'm just pushing out recaps but I have big plans. BIG! Lots of new content will be appearing and we'll be taking things further with IRL meet ups, hangouts, charity drives, and much more.
Also I'll be putting out feelers for awesome crafty and arty ladies to be featured on our site. We really want to help promote y'all. So remind me how awesome you are and spread the word :)

My deviantArt story
Oh look! It's an Ali.
It's dA's birthday, which means it'll be my dAnniversary here soon too and will mark ten years since joining up. A decade of deviance.
Great, now I feel old.
My dA story isn't abnormally fabulous, it isn't extraordinarily awesome, it is not in any way uncommon...and that's the coolest thing ever.
Look, my best friend was found through dA. Hell, the majority of my close friends are dA people. A very long and healing relationship was found on dA. I've gotten jobs because under my volunteer section on my resume was DeviantArt: Gallery Director (back in the day when we were directors. branding. it matters)

I recently signed up for a marathon which will take place in February 2015.
Prior to that I am running in the Oatmeal's Beat the Blerch in September, just doing the half.
MegMcMuffin (https://www.deviantart.com/megmcmuffin) and wazzdakka (https://www.deviantart.com/wazzdakka) are also running with me and are being kind enough to let me crash with them!
Hopefully i'll also see my dear friend MrHealer (https://www.deviantart.com/mrhealer) while i'm there making for a record breaking twice in a year visit! TWICE! That shatters our old record of twice in a decade for a whopping three times a decade. Impressive stuff.
So if you're in the seattle area in late September-- call me, come out to the Blerch, support us as we run in tutus and war paint awa
